It's possible to build something that looks successful on the outside while missing the foundation that will actually sustain it. A life can appear strong, accomplished, and put together—and still begin to crack when the storms come.

Jesus reminds us that what holds everything together isn't what we've achieved. It's who we've built our lives on.

We spend so much of our time building careers, relationships, financial security, and personal goals. None of those things are bad. But when they become the foundation instead of Jesus, they eventually begin to carry a weight they were never meant to hold.

That's the tension.

You can become really good at building a life that impresses people while quietly ignoring the foundation underneath.

In His teaching about the wise and foolish builders, Jesus says the difference isn't whether storms come—they come for everyone. The difference is whether we've dug deep enough to build on something that lasts.

Maybe you've started noticing some cracks.

Stress feels overwhelming.

Relationships are strained.

Success doesn't satisfy the way you thought it would.

Or maybe you're simply realizing that you've been asking Jesus to fit into your plans instead of allowing Him to shape your life.

The good news is that Jesus doesn't shame us for shaky foundations. He invites us to rebuild.

No matter what you've built so far, it's never too late to begin again with Christ as the cornerstone. He is the foundation that won't shift, the source of lasting hope, and the one who continues the good work He starts in us.

Take a few moments this week to honestly ask yourself: What is my life really built on?

If you'd like to explore that question with others, we'd love to welcome you this Sunday as we continue following Jesus together here in Tallahassee.
