What Shapes our faith

We believe faith is meant to be both understood and lived.

At CrossWay, our beliefs are centered on Jesus and rooted in the Bible. These statements reflect what we teach, how we live, and what we’re learning together as a church.

You don’t have to have everything figured out to visit. If you’re exploring faith or have questions, you are welcome here.

core beliefs

These beliefs shape how we understand God, ourselves, and the purpose of our lives.

We believe faith begins with Jesus—understanding who He is, what He has done, and what that means for our lives.

Everything we believe flows from that foundation, and we are learning together what it means to follow Him.

GOD

Everything we believe begins with who God is.

GOD

We believe there is one true God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, loving, just, and worthy of all worship.

JESUS

We believe Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again. Through Him, we are forgiven and brought into relationship with God.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in believers, guiding, strengthening, and transforming us to become more like Jesus.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is God’s Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit and given to guide us in knowing God and living faithfully.

Our need and god's rescue

Our lives are broken by sin—but God has made a way to restore us through Jesus.

HUMANITY

We believe every person is created in God’s image, with inherent dignity, value, and purpose.

Because of sin, our relationship with God is broken, and we are unable to restore it on our own.

We believe every person needs God’s grace, and that through Jesus, our lives can be forgiven, restored, and made new.

SALVATION

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, made possible through Jesus.

We respond to that grace through faith in Him, turning away from sin, and being baptized into Christ—where we receive forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Following Jesus is not a one-time moment, but a lifelong journey of trusting Him, growing in faith, and living a new life.

THE CHURCH

We are not meant to follow Jesus alone.

We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of people who are learning to follow Jesus together.

It’s a place where we worship God, grow in our faith, encourage one another, and use our gifts to serve others.

We believe life with Jesus is not meant to be lived alone, but in community—where we are known, supported, and growing together.

living out our faith

Faith is meant to be both understood and lived.

CHRISTIAN LIVING

We believe following Jesus is a lifelong journey of being transformed by His grace.

As we follow Him, we are learning to love God, love others, and live in a way that reflects His character in everyday life.

This includes growing in faith, practicing forgiveness, serving others, and allowing God to shape every part of our lives.

MARRIAGE & HUMAN SEXUALITY

We believe God’s design for our lives—including our relationships and identity—is good and purposeful.

We believe that God created every person in His image, with inherent dignity, value, and purpose.

We believe that God created humanity as male and female—sexually and biologically distinct—and that this design is intentional and good.

We believe that God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting His design for love, commitment, and family.

We also believe in the dignity and value of singleness. Singleness is not a lesser calling, but a meaningful and full way of life in following Jesus. Every person has a place in the life of the church.

At the same time, we believe every person matters deeply to God. No one is defined by their past, their struggles, or their story.

Following Jesus involves learning to trust Him with every part of our lives—including our relationships, identity, and desires—and growing together in grace and truth.

We are committed to being a community where people can seek God, ask honest questions, and take steps toward Him at their own pace.

our hope (End Times)

Our future is secure because of what God has promised.

We believe Jesus will return, and God will make all things new.

We believe there will be a final judgment, and that those who belong to Christ will be with Him forever.

This hope gives us confidence for the future and shapes how we live today.
